In the car tonight:
Boo: "mom, are you thinking what I'm thinking?"
Me (highly doubting it): "well, what are you thinking?"
Boo: "about unicorns jumping!"
:)
She dreams and thinks unicorns.
Earlier today she and I were just chatting and she was trying to remember a name of something and she couldn't she ended up saying something like "meri...i.pole. we'll just call it meripole" and just went on about who knows what.
GG mentioned that sometimes we think our kids are cuter than they are. That's probably true but it's fun to be a parent and watch your kids learn new skills and communicate. One of funnest things about being a parent.
Ps. I know funniest isn't a word but "the most fun" just sounds awkward...and besides, didn't they add it to the dictionary yet?

t.r.o.u.b.l.e
This sweet little thing is transitioning to t.r.o.u.b.l.e.
She doesn't walk yet but she can crawl and she can stand very well and she is into EVERYTHING
(granted this is a small thing she is into but that bottle top that she has in her mouth is from a drawer she rips apart daily.) She's at the age where she wants what she isn't supposed to have. It's maddening to have all those toys right there and she screaming to get what she can't have. And she's at the age where she knows crying is a useful tool. If crying doesn't get what she wants, it usually makes the situation change in one way or another, for better or worse. oye.
Then there are meal times.....
What a mess! She likes to spit out her food and her favorite is when she can get the food out on her lips and then raspberry it so that it gets all over. I just got done attempting to feed her breakfast. She fought for the spoon. She raspberried her food so that it ended up in her hair. So we gave up on breakfast. I figured she wasn't hungry enough to want to eat it. And p.s. this girl doesn't like cherrios. What child doesn't like Cherrios?
Even though she is becoming a bit crazy but she can be so sweet. She loves to cuddle. I love it when she puts her arms around my neck. She's a bit of a sour patch. First their sour and then their sweet...except usually she plays it the other way around I feel like.
One other thing about this adorable trouble babe. Yesterday I was doing a bit of Richard Simmons to loosen up my muscles. At the end of each song they clapped for the band playing the music in the video and Little miss would start clapping with them. It made me giggle. And then I did some Jillian. Little Miss started to cry. I looked over and she is crying as she tries with all her might to pick up 5lb weights. She was getting so mad that she couldn't move them. Haha. poor girl. I guess we've got an aspiring heavy weight lifter in our family.

rhyme time
Boo has a set of words she keeps on repeating...and working hard at remembering what the words are. I can't figure out where she learned them but she keeps on trying to remember them. I first heard "cheese please". I asked why she said it and she said "it rhymes!" I was surprised because I had tried to introduce her to rhyming but she was just not picking up on it. Anyway, as she went on with her words her next ones were "humble bird, flower." And I'd say, "that doesn't rhyme". Then she continues on with a bunch of her made up words. She has been making up words with odd sounds for I'd say a year-ish. I think it's funny that she routinely goes through those words, tapping her index finger on her palm of her other hand as she tries to remember the words.

deprived
You know your daughter needs more friend time when you ask if she wants to go to story time at the library and you explain that there will be other kids there, in which, she very excitedly responds, "and I can play with them?"
Little miss' nap time isn't very convenient for playing with friends. Miss needs two naps still apparently, so it makes outing times available during lunch and late afternoon...not necessarily convenient. I'm torn between really trying to alter her schedule. I love two naps because that means two breaks for me, however it makes playing and story time difficult for boo.

splish splash
During spring break we took the girls to an indoor water park. I don't like swimming, water or swimsuits in general but I really enjoyed this outing. My favorite was the lazy river( ?). I loved floating around with the girls and they loved it too. Totally recommend it, however I can't imagine I would have enjoyed it much if it had been busy.
Look at Boo! I can't believe how much she is growing up. She is turning into such a little kid- I haven't considered her a toddler for a very long time but she just transitioning into a school age kid. Time flies SOOOOOO very fast. Little Miss turns 1 very soon and that seems so very odd. It seems like maybe six months. ... Oh geez, i sure love my girls.

super mom
I don't know what your definition of what a super mom is or your opinion on whether or not one should try to attain such a status but I feel like a super mom. :)
A few ladies got together and had a motherhood retreat about a month ago. A few ladies shared things they learned from some podcasts they listened to about motherhood. I can't remember exactly what was said but I came away from that with a desire to make a few goals that I wanted to accomplish each day. For me, I decided to have goals that I wanted to be accomplish EVERY day not specific goals to make for each day. First, I decided I'd get my self back in the habit of regular scripture study. ( honestly this has been the hardest thing for me to do consistently since I graduated college. I get in the habit and then something changes that schedule and it takes forever to get in a pattern again.) So each day I make sure scriptures happen. Then I make sure exercising happens ( which I have to be realistic and realize 1or 2 days a week it just can't happen due to schedules but I do as much as I can). My last goal is to quilt a little, ideally a whole block....this is a quilt top I put together 9 years ago this summer. I. WILL.FINISH. IT.THIS YEAR.
Anyway, I have found I feel Awesome when I get just those 3 things done. And somehow by trying to get just those 3 things done more things end up getting accomplished and I begin to feel like super mom. It feels great because for the last few months I've been just chilling and just getting through winter. So if any of you feel like you've been ho-hum make a goal or two for your day, see if it makes any difference in your day.
