I did it

Ever since I was pregnant with little miss I have been afraid of havin to find shelter for two kids by myself.  The fear lessened a great deal after moving from the second floor apartment to our house but it is has been something I worry about.
BOo was so out of it sleeping, it was hard to coax her down the stairs while carrying little miss and their comfort blankets and flashlights.
Once down there, Boo fell back asleep on the couch cushions I got for her aND little miss just quietly cuddled with her blankets as we listened to dad on the phone.
thankfully no tornado. and I Survived getting my kids downstairs By myself. Small victory and practice for the future (unfortunate fact of living in tornado alley).

time to call it quits

For the over the last year I have worked hard at exercising 5-6 times a week. There were obviously times where circumstances did not allow for exercising 5 days a week but it that was the exception.  It felt great. (Now if only I had figured out how to change my eating habits. )

Anyway, it is time to accept that I have to give up exercising more or less. My body just can't do it any more. And I realize there are too many things that are off limits that it's been ridiculous trying to even do the videos any more.
i'll still try to do what I can, maybe find some pregnancy videos and walk when I can But even then I get tired awfully fast.

So either I need to embrace the beautiful pregnancy weight or learn to eat right (ha!)

the prime of my life

I'm not sure what the true definition of prime of life is....isn't like the best time, the highlight of your life?  Anyway, I had a thought this week that I am probably in the prime of my life. Doing my most important and fun work i'll ever do. Maybe I feel that way because I can't picture life after kids.  But I had a really good week. I felt like I was being a pretty awesome homemaker (seriously,  I made jsm, pie and bread fantastically all in one day)and a being a pretty good mom. But then yesterday about noon everything started to go down hill. Little Miss's attitude took a turn for the worst, my second attempt at bread was a fail, my plans for the day all fell apart. blame it on the pregnancy hormones, i started to lose it. I put myself in time out. After the kids were in bed, I went grocery shopping instead of out on a date with the hubby due to unexpected work stuff,  bought a few fun items for me, spent $200 on maternity clothes online (most will go back i'm sure), had a Ben and jerry's and my mood improved.
This morning, everything went back to how it was before bed time. Somehow, I got the kids pulled together to go to garage sales. I stopped to get gas and the song "you're gonna miss this" came on over the speakers.
just what I needed to hear, even though it's still hard. Just need to push through and enjoy the shinning,  happy moments.

hippity, hoppity ready for Easter

I think we are all set for easter around here.  Eggs are filled, baskets ready

Eggs dyed
Although, don't try coloring eggs when they are hot with crayons. I read somewhere that they died the first easter egg red to symbolize Christ,  do I tried this method out with this egg. Little Miss pulled the egg carton with the wet colored egg down and crayon got in boo's hair and face and all over the flOor. Crayon Wax is not easy to get off your skin or hair....or floor. Thank heavens I  found a magic eraser on hand. It saved the day. Long story short: crayon method was a total fail and magic erasers are awesome!
Cookies made for Saturday night dinner with family

We've done our best at learning about the Savior's last week each night, we really didn't do the activities though. I started off using this blog post, a deliberate mothers guide to easter , which is good but we found this one from LDS daily with the lds bible videos linked up to tell the stories. It's  been good for our family. I wanted boo to understand easter and not have be about candy or baskets.

A tip for those who do the videos: Thursday night and Friday night the stories of Jesus are sad and difficult. Thankfully, my mother in law was here at the end of the video and caught on to what Boo was feeling and pulled up a picture of resurrected Christ and reminded her of the happy ending. But I think it's good but difficult to go through the story daily and understand what he went through for us individually, and not just breeze by "he suffered and died" and jump to He is Risen!

I'm so thankful to be able to teach my children the gospel. Yes, it is easier to let others do it but it's do important it comes from the home.

Easter is such important holiday and yet again it is reduced by the traditions of our culture.  I feel that there have been so many that have lost loved ones in the very recent past and it is a hard thing. But  because of Easter and the restored gospel of Jesus Christ we have the knowledge that we can live again resurrected and can be cleansed from sin as we partake if His blood of the new covenant.  And as we live the best we can and partake of the covenants of the temple our families can be together forever all because of our Savior. What a beautiful, glorious  gospel of love and sacrifice.

Happy Easter!!

My sour patch kid

Alright this my third attempt to post in a week or so but I keep losing my post when I tried to attach a video. So I give up with the video.

Little Miss is emerging into her terrible twos and it driving me crazy. The video I tried to upload was of her craziness as she cried and cried as kept piling boojs, bkanjets, shoes, toys, basically anything she could find on top of me as I lay on the couch. She then climbed on top Of the pile and me. She was really crazy.

Here are some of her naughtiness:
1. This morning she pulled the pitcher of juice off the counter. I ran in to see what happened, I slipped and fell like they do In the movies.
2. This morning again, coloring on my mirror with my make up. And she thinks it's great fun to play with my make up in general
3. she is a ninja climber. i even took the handles off the cupboards that she used to climb up and she still figured it out how to get up to help herself to food.
4. She is crazy about brushing her teeth.  she wants to brush all the time and doesn't want to stop. Drives me batty.
5. She throws stuff when she is mad.
6. She is a tease. She acts like she's giving you something and then pulls it away Right as you reach for it . This one wouldn't bother me except that it drives boo crazy.
7. She roars when she is protecting a toy from boo or others taking it from her.

She is a determined one. I guess that is what makes the twos terrible, they gain determination and an opinion.

she's a bit of a sour patch, first she's sweet then she's sour. Because despite this list she is a cuddly little sweet thing. And she loves to smile and laugh, something we noticed when she was little-little.

I hope this means when she turns three she turn into an angel like boo did. :)

processing the news...and getting a life

this whole pregnancy I had a feeling it was  boy.  I really didn't want to have a boy. Boys are chaotic, they throw things, hit things,  run away fast and pee everywhere.  But funny thing finding out that this babe is a girl I realized maybe I want I boy. Having another girl means same old clothes, same bedding, same ol', same ol'. However with increased insurance costs maybe it's a good thing I don't go crazy on new things. And the girls will have fun together...until they are teenagers anyway.

.....

News: I  cancelled Netflix.  I get entirely too sucked into the shows. So I might get a life. That and spring has finally come around. And it feels wonderful to get out of the house and enjoy it. I hate cold and I hate snow....unless I want to stay home and not go anywhere.
Wish me luck on getting a life. :)

and it's a....

a girl!!

I can't believe it. I totally thought it was a boy. This pregancy has been so different. However,  that being said it was the doctor who did the ultrasound, not the tech. I go to a place where the doctor does an ultrasound every time because she owns it. So there is a chance she missed something.  Next time at my 20 week appointment the tech will confirm it.

Well, good things come in threes right?
