Its been awhile, or at least I feel like its been awhile since I've posted. Not a lot has happened though. Just bumming through while Gentle Giant finds plenty to keep himself busy...seriously, busy. He's been busy with a tenure class for teaching, started up summer grad classes (getting closer to being done), football camps have begun, and church callings keep him quite preoccupied. And me, well, I take three hour naps while Boo is sleeping. :) I know I should find something to do but I just can't convince myself its worth it, so I dream away.

Boo has been keeping herself busy by pushing around her grocery cart full of toys. Its so funny. I wish I had a picture to share. I just call her cart lady. Seriously looks like a homeless lady.

She also has discovered that she can climb into the tub and thinks that is great fun.
We went to the Zoo (no pics) but while we were waiting for our friends to show up we walked around the rose gardens. I couldn't get her to look at me for a picture. Too busy running.

This is her signing "water" with her one finger to her lips even though its supposed to be three fingers to form a "w". She's got her own language. :)

I love this outfit but she was not going to let me get a good picture. Feisty one, she is.
Gentle Giant's brother who came to visit us a couple of times this month. It was fun to have visitors!!!

Our Anniversary Breakfast
Well, I guess that it. Tomorrow GG leaves for football camp and I'm doing a garage sale at my parents. If I don't make at least $10 I think I might be very upset for how long it took us to set up today.  Anyway, until next time folks!

Each Year

It's our Anniversary.
It makes me happy.
I love being married.
I LOVE being married to the Gentle Giant.
He's the Best.
I won't get all mushy here, but I love him and I am so thankful for him.
Not just anyone could love and put up with all my craziness. :)

We plan on having a wonderful day, hope you do too.

passing time

So I haven't been very productive this last week. I discovered tv episodes on Netflix. For whatever reason, I feel like I have to watch an entire season (or as much as I can) into a single day. Its like not being able to put down a book you're reading.  The two shows I got into was Samantha Who? and Drop Dead Diva. Loved 'em!!
I finished the two seasons to Drop Dead Diva and am anxiously awaiting for the third season to start June 19.  I can't get it out of my mind and the sad thing is I know that they are going to drag it out over at least 13 more episodes if not more and I will still be anxiously awaiting the for Grayson and Jane to get together. AHHHH! Stupid TV shows.

Here are some pictures I got of Miss Boo this week. She's getting harder to take a picture of lately. As soon as she sees the camera she drops what she is doing and runs for the camera while saying "Cheese" or she just starts shaking her head saying "no." Neither one is helpful.
I love this one, she's pondering her escape onto the patio.

I think this $1 hat from Target is hilarious! She plays with it all the time. Unfortunately, she kinda reminds me of a old spinster in it. (or something like that.)

Well, thats all for now folks. Later.

Happy days

How did your Mother's Day go? For me, this was my best Mother's day ever...granted I only have had 2 official ones as a mom and the last one was terrible-I just remember being an emotional mess and extremely tired because Boo was not sleeping well.

The Lemon Berry Trifle I made for Mother's Day seemed to be a hit with my family. It took several hours to make since it was all from scratch. It didn't look as pretty as theirs but taste is the most important thing.  Sometimes, the messier the tastier.

Today, Boo got to swim (or rather play in the water) with her friend. They seemed to enjoy splashing around with each other. We're glad they came to play with us. It was definitely more fun with friends.

Can't you just picture Boo as a teenager?? I'm scared.

As fun as our summer day was, I hope it goes back to spring and we don't get to swim for at least another month. :)

My Embarrassing Display

He did it!! My wonderful hubby finally gave me a embarrassingly large beautiful bouquet of flowers!

Don't get me wrong he's very good about giving me a flower fairly often but I have always wanted a ginormous bouquet of flowers just for me.

Aren't they just. P.E.R.F.E.C.T?

Thanks Love! They make me Happy!

Lilacs. Lemons. Berries.

Doesn't that title shout SPRING?!! (Just don't put the smell of lilacs in combination with your mental taste buds of lemon and berries together. ew gross.)

Today,  my wonderful neighbor lady brought me some lilac branches. Wasn't that wonderful of her? I love lilacs. They remind me of my mother. That and lilies of the valley. When I was a pre-teenish, I used to make my mom Mother's Day corsages out of lilacs and sometimes lillies of the valley.  When I grow up I will have lillies of the valley and a lilac bush growing in my yard. And with that we will have whatever those white flowering trees are too..and since I'm dreaming well also include the pink ones. I  LOVE SPRING!

In preparation for this lovely holiday to celebrate moms, I've done a little searching for a yummy dessert and this is what I came up with (which shouldn't have been so hard since it was right on my blog list from Barefoot and Baking but I had to make sure it was the "one")
Doesn't it look delicous?

It looks simple but unfortunately there are lots of steps to this one so hopefully I don't screw it up! :)

...I'll let you know how it goes.
